TRANSFER OF MEMBERSHIP

Any member of another Local of the IATSE who wants to transfer membership to this Local must present a letter of good standing from their home local, a resume and a letter of request along with a transfer card from the union of which they formerly belonged, three letters of support from members in category, and a copy of their WHMIS certificate. Upon acceptance, they will be required to pay $275.00 in fees ( $50.00 transfer fee and $125 for the quarter dues in which their Transfer occurs).

HONOURABLE WITHDRAWAL

Honourable Withdrawal is the process in which members can leave the Local in good standing with the ability to return at a later date. If you are considering Honourable Withdrawal, please consult the union office. Any request for Honourable Withdrawal must be made in writing and submitted to the Business Agent. Once accepted and all dues have been paid, the Union Office will mail out the Honourable Withdrawal card. This is available to members as an option to a maximum of two requests.
As per the I.A.T.S.E. Local 411 constitution – Article VIII, subsection 3:
Upon request, any paid-up member in good standing who is not under charges of misconduct and who has declared under oath that they will not continue to work in the craft of the Local shall be issued an Honourable Withdrawal card.
Members holding Honourable Withdrawal cards may be re-admitted in the future at the option of the Local. However, if the member is re-admitted they will be responsible for payment of all dues or assessments accrued during the period of withdrawal.
The Local shall refuse to reinstate or re-admit to membership any holder of an Honourable Withdrawal card who has committed acts detrimental to this Alliance after the date issue of the withdrawal card.
As per the international constitution, payment of all dues owed to a maximum of eight (8) quarters shall be made to the Local.  The Executive Board, in its discretion, may approve the member to pay a reduced fee of a maximum of eight (8) quarters per capita costs for payment to the International.

REINSTATEMENT OF MEMBERS

As per the I.A.T.S.E. Local 411 constitution – Article VIII, subsection 2:
Any member who has been suspended from membership shall be required to pay a reinstatement fee of one-hundred fifty dollars ($150), together with all financial obligations that may have accrued against the member during the period of suspension. Any member who has been expelled shall be required to make application as a new member, and shall be governed by all conditions pertaining to same.
